I received excellent care 100% of the time which I spent at the queens medical centre notts. All of the staff, nurses and my doctors/consultants were excellent and treated me with great dignity and respect. I was always listened to and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
The care that I received from Mr White's team at Queens Medical Centre could not be faulted. From diagnosis, to the pre op processes, everything was made clear as to what would take place.
The nursing care was exemplary, and could not be faulted.
One point of criticism, and this applies to all hospitals, is that as a paraplegic patient the equipment required for people in my position in often inadequate, for example, commode chairs, shower chairs etc.

Sorry. CT.
I have been a patient under the expert care of Mr White since 2008 when a intramural spinal cord tumor was located at L1 following a MRI scan. My symptoms got progressively worse and I was admitted for formal assessment . I felt Mr White was exceptionally knowledgable and professional and told me everything I needed to know to know , the positives for having surgery and also a frank and open discussion regarding the progression of my symptoms if left untreated. I liked his honesty and found him empathic and understanding and very easy to talk to. Following surgery Mr White came to see me and explained that my tumor was an ependymoma which apparently is quiet rare. When I became slightly unwell post op Mr White and his team acted swiftly and effectively . The aftercare was tremendous and the staff on the NSPU and ward 12D where fantastic. I found them to be caring, supportive and thoroughly professional. As a former nurse. I was anxious and worried when first diagnosed and a fellow member of staff spoke very highly of Mr White and I am very glad I took their advise and deeply indebted to Mr White for everything he has done so far. I saw Mr. White in September 2013 in connection with my condition Arnold Chiari malformation to discuss the possibility of surgery, as well as to review my present condition. I cannot speak highly enough of this consultant. He gave me as much time as I wanted, treated me with respect and as an intelligent person, was totally unassuming in spite of his position, empowered me to make considered decisions and answered all my questions carefully and informatively, at the same time leaving me with the feeling that my condition and emotions around the situation mattered to him. What a credit to his profession!
